The swimming pool water is heated by Hidria's 191 SI - SOL 20 2C flat solar energy collectors with a total of 351.44 m2 of absorption surface. The 246kW of installed calorific power is used to heat the swimming pool water, for preparing hot sanitary water and for supporting the underfloor heating. The Hidria solar system installed adapts to various regimes of heating depending on the time of year. Solar energy collectors with a highly selective coating on the absorber ensure an the increased utilisation rate of the field and are installed at roof level and turned towards the south at a 42° angle which enables the optimum conditions for utilizing the solar radiation during the periods of transition in the spring, autumn and winter. Unlike similar products that are filled with glycol, the solar energy collectors in the Strunjan hotel use, water which represents an additional contribution towards a more environment-friendly solution and lower investment costs.

Hotel Svoboda, Slovenia
Hidria equipped the Svoboda Hotel**** in Strunjan with an environmentally-friendly solar system, which is primarily intended for heating the swimming pool water. The hotel's capacity was expanded at the start of this year's season by adding two new swimming pools, an additional range of saunas and health therapies. Due to the hotel's sunny position on the Slovenian coast, the investment will be repaid in four years.
