Hidria d.d. celebrates its 20th anniversary

On 31 December 2009, Hidria d.d., the parent company of the Hidria Corporation, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its establishment.

Hidria's today's image - a high-technology, research oriented and internationalised corporation - is the best proof that the decision to step out of the Iskra business system and continue independently, which was adopted in 1989 by the management of the then Iskra TOZD Montaža, with the president Edvard Svetlik, was correct. Following privatisation, complete restructuring and acquisition of other key companies, Hidria grew from a simple factory for assembling collector motors into one of the leading European manufacturers of the systems for indoor climate, automotive technologies and power tools in merely two decades.

Hidria's managers celebrated the 20th anniversary by means of a socially-responsible campaign of gathering assets for the development of young talented musicians (at the photo). All funds gathered during the campaign were donated to two daughters of Hidria's employees. The nine-year-old violinist and ballerina Sofya-Agnessa Yakuntsova from Ljubljana will use the donation from the Hidria's management to continue her education at the Secondary School of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana and in the Tartini Musical Atelier, and the flautist Špela Flajšaker from Idrija will use the donation to buy a new flute and to continue playing as soloist and member of the Miners Brass Wind Band from Idrija, while preparing for the entrance examination at the Secondary School of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana. Also in 2009, Hidria will, as the general sponsor, promote the work of the Miners Brass Wind Band from Idrija and will, for the third consecutive time, enable the conductor Domen Prezelj to attend the international conference of brass bands in the USA.
