Borut Pahor, President of Slovenia, Working in Hidria

Accepting an invitation from Hidria, Slovenian President Borut Pahor continued the “TOGETHER – Encouraging Each Other” project at the company. He spent the day at Hidria AET in Tolmin, working as an operator at the automated line assembling cold-start systems for diesel engines.

At the end of his morning shift, the President explained that he wanted to work in the production unit to learn about the business processes implemented in successful companies. “Working in companies like Hidria requires focus and precision, while also encouraging employees and management alike to be innovative. People are always contemplating how to do their work even better, meet the demands of premium production and contribute to the progress of the company,” Mr. Pahor stressed, adding that “every single profession is important in making the Slovenian economy a competitive unit.”

At the end of the working day, the President met with the Hidria management to discuss the opportunities and problems present in the Slovenian economy.

Mr. Pahor spent the day as part of a team that values knowledge, competence, innovation and excellence above all in order to achieve and surpass the company development objectives. Hidria is one of the world’s leading providers of hi-tech solutions for the automotive industry, including cold-start systems for diesel engines. The President familiarised himself with the work required for manual, yet hi-tech and complex production, where we use innovation and in-house knowledge to introduce new forms of work in automated lines.

The “TOGETHER – Encouraging Each Other” project sees Borut Pahor visit different towns in Slovenia for a day each month to work, spend time with and talk to a variety of professional, generational, social and other groups.
