Hidria uses a lot of water, also drinking water, for its industrial needs In order to minimise the use of this precious source of life, we have launched the international project LIFE HIDAQUA. Thus, we will significantly reduce our dependence on the water distribution system, improve our self-sufficiency and help resolve the water problem in Slovenian Istria.

We acquired a new European project, SOPHIA, which is very important for Hidria. It is the first international project in robotics for our Corporation. Robots and the control of robots became a permanent topic for us in the recent years. On this project we will work together with an exceptionally strong scientific development team from leading European institutions from this area.

Hidria will supply innovative aluminium housings for steering systems to BMW; as of 2023 this German giant will use these housings in all its new hybrid and electric vehicles. This confirms our Corporation’s leading role as an innovative pre-development supplier of key parts of steering systems in premium vehicles and strengthens its position among the main global co-creators of electromobility.

The 13th biennial Euroguss fair was held in Nuremberg in Germany. With our solutions we were among the 754 exhibitors at this largest fair for die casting. In three days, the fair was visited by over 15,000 professional visitors.

The innovative technology Hidria Bond used to produce rotors and stators for electric drive motors that will be used by BMW and Daimler-Mercedes in their electric and hybrid vehicles made it possible for us to sign important contracts to ensure the successful development and strengthening of our Corporation. For this purpose, we opened new modern production premises in Jesenice and gave symbolic awards to thank our partners in the project.

Since October Hidria has been a partner and coordinator of the EDISON WINCI project in the framework of the tender Demo Piloti II 2018. This is a project developing the infrastructure, competencies and elements of business models for logistical systems of electrical vehicles for contactless charging. In this project Hidria will develop new technologies of bonding laminations used to produce modern electric drive motors.
