In the framework of the project “Building strong partnerships for future champions”, we organised a very special sports event for the children of our employees and their friends during the winter holidays. Hidria’s first Water Challenge for little champions was a real adventure for almost 100 children who enjoyed in the Olympic swimming pool in Žusterna, Koper.

There are few people who would not relish a jump into warm water in the winter time, particularly the children. There are almost 100 children aged 3 to 17 among us, who already miss the excitement of carefree and adventurous summer at the seaside. Therefore, we organised a very special sports adventure for our little champions from Tolmin, Spodnja Idrija, Ljubljana and Kranj in the indoor Olympic swimming pool in Žusterna. All that was left was for them to jump into the water and begin the true water challenge and party in the swimming pool!

Together with experienced instructors and coaches from the Koper Swimming Club we took care that non-swimmers had a variety of exciting accessories for safe and correct learning of the swimming moves. The bigger children had the opportunity to explore different water sports, such as kayaking, jumping on and from inflated floats into the water, water polo and water basketball. The children were thrilled about water adventures. They all promised to participate in Hidria’s next attractive challenges!

The Water Challenge for small champions is part of the project Building strong partnerships for future champions that enables quality development of young talents. We support the basketball team from Idrija, the ice hockey team from Jesenice, the tennis and handball players and the musicians in the Idrija Miners Brass Wind Band. During the autumn holidays, we organised the Ice Challenge for the children of Hidria’s employees and took the young champions to Jesenice to learn about ice hockey and martial arts. The purpose of these activities is to strengthen our social responsibility and enable young people to learn about different sports and enter the interesting world of sports in a unique manner.
