Glow plugs

Glow plugs are the central part of the diesel engine cold start system. They provide for the efficient starting and stable operation of diesel engines even at the lowest temperatures and help reduce harmful emissions.

They are located in the engine head so that the point of the heating element is directly located in the combustion area of each cylinder. The energy transmitted by the glow of the plug point into the fuel chamber ensures the efficient starting and stable operation of diesel engines, even at temperatures well below zero (down to –30°C). This helps lower emissions that are harmful to health and the environment.

We use the following technologies to produce glow plugs: injection moulding, sintering, winding, forging, laser welding, pouring and automated assembly.

Ceramic glow plugs

Due to their ceramic compounds, different electric conductivity and high resistance, our high and low voltage ceramic glow plugs for starting diesel engines allow operations at extreme temperatures – even up to 1350°C.

High-voltage glow plugs whose selected materials also ensure temperature self-regulation, are connected directly to the battery voltage. They reach the maximum temperature within 5 to 7 seconds.

Low-voltage glow plugs are supplied through an advanced switch. This allows the glow temperature to be regulated by adjusting the battery voltage. The low-voltage plug develops a temperature of 1000°C in around 1.4 seconds.

Glow plugs with metal heaters

Our high and low voltage glow plugs with metal heaters for starting diesel engines allow temperatures of up to 1150°C to be reached within a relatively short time. This is achieved using a special heating element of the plug made of special resistors that are hermetically closed in a tube and filled with ceramic powder.

High-voltage glow plugs whose selected materials also ensure temperature self-regulation, are connected directly to the battery voltage. They reach the maximum temperature within 5 to 7 seconds.

Low-voltage glow plugs are supplied through an advanced switch. This allows the glow temperature to be regulated by adjusting the battery voltage. This plug develops the maximum temperature within less than 3 seconds. 

We use the following technologies to produce glow plugs with metal heaters: winding, forging, laser welding, pouring and automated assembly.
